Horn with a guilty pleasure

What you Need

800 grams plain flour

60 grams sugar

120 grams melted butter

1/2 tea spoon ground cardamom (optional)

600 ml milk

70 grams fresh yeast


200 grams chocolate for the "guilty pleasure"


1 egg for glaze and pearl sugar (optional)

What to do

  1. Add flour, sugar and cardamom to a bowl
  2. Melt the butter and add the milk to the butter - this mix should have a temperature at about 25 degrees
  3. Add the fresh yeast to a glass and some of the milk/butter mix. Whisk until the yeast has dissolved.
  4. Add the yeast/milk/butter mix together with the rest of the milk/butter mix to the bowl.
  5. Mix it all together.
  6. Knead the dough for about 10 min.
  7. Set aside, cover with a tea towel and let the dough rest for about 1 hour - until it's double in size

When the dough is set

  1. Slice the dough into 4 equally large pieces.
  2. Use a rolling pin and flatten the dough into a large circle or a square - See photo above
  3. Cut the circle/square into triangle pizza pieces.
  4. Add a chocolate bite to the short side, and roll the pieces into horns
  5. Let the horns rest for 1 hour on a baking tray
  6. set the oven to 180 degrees, glaze with egg mix and pearl sugar (optional)
  7. Cook for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee
